The inspiration behind making a sangria inside of a watermelon really wasn’t too difficult to come up with. I was at a cottage with my best friends who enjoy a proper summer sipper. Needless to say, the beverage was finished very quickly and we all felt amazing because very little added sugar was required.
For the next person wanting to emulate this gift from mother nature, I’d recommend making a batch of sangria, then letting it sit in a fridge overnight. Then strain the solid fruits out and put only the liquid in the watermelon. This aids in not having chunks getting stuck in the spigot. Then with the discarded fruit, you can ladle them into the individual serving glasses. Then you can Instagram how chic you are.
Sangria Recipe
  • 1 (750 milliliter) bottle dry white wine
  • 1 cup Cazadores Tequila
  • 1/2 cup triple sec
  • 1 medium lime, quartered
  • 1 orange, cut into wedges
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

Pour the wine, tequila, triple sec, and simple syrup into the pitcher. Stir to combine. Mix the lime quarters, orange sections, and blueberries into the sangria. Chill for 4 hours before serving.
